January-February 2012

Living as Jesus’ Friend

In John 15:14, Jesus says, “You are my friends if you do what I command.” Becoming a friend of Jesus is a wonderful and transforming experience as the first half of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians makes clear. We receive incredible privileges, because Jesus has chosen us to be his friends.

Yet, if we are truly friends of Jesus how are we to live and behave towards others? The second half of Ephesians, which we are looking at over the next few weeks, answers that question. It draws out the implication of our friendship with Jesus for our day to day lives.
