"But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart." (Luke 2:19)
Have you ever imagined what the whole Christmas experience must have been for Mary? A young girl, engaged to be married, visited by an angel, told that although she was a virgin, she was going to give birth to God's Son, having to travel 80 miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem when she was heavily pregnant, giving birth when she was basically homeless and having to use an animal feeding trough as a place to put this special new-born baby and finally being visited by complete strangers who claimed to have been visited by a whole choir of angels with another amazing message about this child.
She certainly had a lot to ponder. Any mother will wonder what their child will grow up to be, but what was this child going to become?
Join us this Christmas and ponder with Mary, the amazing truths about this new-born baby, truths that have the power to transform our lives, 2,000 years later.
Note on Covid-Restrictions: St. Luke's is a large spacious building, but in line with the present government restrictions, we will be blocking off some pews to enable social distancing and asking people to wear masks during the services. Sadly we will also not be having any refreshments.
