This week’s PCC included a wide ranging discussion about our approach to the ongoing discussions about the future of the Church of England churches in Ramsgate. Whilst wanting to engage with these discussions we were keen to proceed with caution, but also not to be distracted from the important work of developing and strengthening the ministry and mission at St. Luke’s. With that in mind we also spent some time discussing the planned Growing Leaders course.
The meeting also approved two important safeguarding policies. Firstly, the new Financial Safeguarding Policy, which lays out in detail our procedures for ensuring that our finances and those who handle our money can best be protected. Secondly, the ‘Safeguarding Policy,’ which lays out our procedures for ensuring that children, young people and vulnerable adults are kept safe when taking part in any of St. Luke’s activities. Do pray for continued diligence in both these areas.
Finally, we also decided on a company to re-varnish the Hall Floor over the summer and to continue supporting Vernon Wilkins, who will be returning from the Jordan to pursue Post-graduate studies in the UK before, hopefully, returning to the Middle East.

Congratulations to Roy Atack, Steve Harris, Rochelle Nantell and Christopher Waldie from St. Luke's on their confirmation this evening. Also a big, 'Thank You' to Bishop Trevor for leading us through such a wonderful service. It was also great to welcome Jacquie Agnew and Susan Midgley and all their supporters from St. James's, Westgate-on-Sea. It was a great service and a wonderful celebration of how God is calling people to be his disciples.
