Jesus performs an amazing sign, feeding 5,000 with one pack lunch. But, what does the sign mean? What does Jesus mean when he says he is the 'Bread of Life'?

Jesus tells his disciples that it is better if he goes away. How can that be? Because then He can send the Holy Spirit on us. So, what has the Spirit come to do?

Jesus want us to be fruitful Christians. But what is the secret of achieving this fruitfulness?

In this passage from John, Jesus explains how we need to remain in him to be fruitful for God.

Mary Magdalene (John 20:11-18)

Mary Magdalene is a popular figure in fiction and films. Yet the Bible says very little about her. In Luke's gospel we are told that she was one of the group that travelled around with Jesus and had had 7 demons cast out of her (Luke 8:1-3), but other than that we are only told that she was one of the first to see the empty tomb and resurrected Jesus.

In John's account we are given a very touching account of Mary meeting the resurrected Jesus for the first time. Her tears are turned to joy, but can we find the same joy and hope from the resurrected Jesus today.

We all need water to drink. More importantly we need clean water to avoid becoming ill.

As Jesus gets into a conversation with a woman at a well he offers her 'living water'. But he is not talking about physical water, but about something far more important!

Most of us will give and receive presents this Christmas. It's a wonderful tradition that pre-dates Christianity. What Christianity especially remembers at Christmas, though, is that God gave us the most amazing present of all...

Should I leave Jesus when I find his teaching difficult? (John 6:60-71)

At times people found Jesus's teaching hard. People reacted in different ways. This week's talk looks at a time when many who had been following Jesus deserted him. However, others realised that although it can be hard following Jesus at times - it was certainly worth it!

Do you want to complain or get better?

This series is called encounters with Jesus. We are looking at some occasions in John's gospel where people meet with Jesus. Usually the outcome is very positive, but the encounter this week is less so.

Amazingly a man is healed by Jesus of an illness that he has suffered with for 38 years. Surely something to rejoice and give thanks for? The response from others around and the man himself, however, is quite different.

Why believe in Jesus?

He had a good job and a lovely family. Then tragedy struck: his child was ill with a fever and looked as though she was going to die. What could he do?

Some friends told him of a miracle worker in Cana. It would take all morning to get there, but if he left early perhaps he could go and persuade the miracle worker to come back with him.

In Cana he finds Jesus and finds life, but not just for his daughter...
