The book of judges tells of the life of Israel at a time which was often violent and bloody. Despite God's amazing rescue of them from Egypt and gift to them of the promised land they soon forgot about him and followed other gods.
God couldn't let this go and so allowed neighbouring nations and people to oppress them. Yet, when Israel cried out to God for help he raised up Judges or deliverers like Ehud who he then used to rescue Israel from their oppressors. |
