Everyone wants peace. But so often our world and our relationships are marked by conflict and strife. As the church we worship the God of peace (e.g. Phil. 4:9) and we are called to pursue peace (e.g. Rom. 14:19). Yet, it isn't as simple as that. For example, is the cross a symbol of peace or conflict? And how can we as churches be more effective at dealing with conflicts, so that we can truly be the people of peace we are called to be? |
