This is a story of someone who was helped a lot through Thanet Winter Shelter and other joint church initiatives locally. None of this was directly linked with St. Luke's but it is a great encouragement of the impact of some of the initiatives being carried out by Christians in Thanet.
Thank you to Andrew McMillan who asked Daniel these questions.

Can you tell me about your experience with the Coronavirus pandemic?
My name is Daniel, I am Orthodox Christian. I worked at a car wash for just one week before lockdown. I am so thankful that the Winter Shelter gave me a room, the church did everything for me, they showed me love when I was sleeping on the street.
What have you missed due to the pandemic?
My two beautiful teenage daughters. They are in Romania, always in my heart. When my relationship broke up, I lost my business, I had depression and I looked on the internet - how to kill myself. God told me no!
What have you learned during the pandemic?
I learned the Church are like my family, they helped me, so I worked with the food bank and sorting clothes. Some people who came for help have an addiction to drugs or are working in the sex industry. The church helps everyone.
Is there anything you would like the church to pray for you?
For my daughters and for my Mother, they are happy now I am returning to my mother’s house. Please God, help me, give me power. I am a mechanic by trade. I have a girl friend now and I just want a new start in life. God is love for everybody.
