Talking about Christianity and Science
Many people think that science has disproved Christianity or that you cannot be a Christian and a scientist. Indeed, there are many well known public scientists who claim that God does not exist: Richard Dawkins, Brian Cox and the late Stephen Hawking. Yet, many of the founders of science, such as Pascal, Newton and Kepler had a strong belief in God.
Who is right? Are science and Christianity friends or foes? How should we react when the Bible and science seem to disagree? Can science or Christianity answer our deepest questions? Come along on Thursday 22nd November, 7:30-9:00pm at St. Luke's Church. For a chance to explore these questions and more. There will be opportunities for discussion and questions. The session will be led by Rev. Paul Worledge who has a degree in Mathematics from Oxford university as well as a degree in theology. |
